Occupation 101

If the news of Israel "evicting" Palestinians from their homes isn't enough to move you to tears and hopefully move you to some sort of action, take a look at this award wining documentary, Occupation 101. You can watch excerpts and order the DVD here: http://www.occupation101.com/
Sometimes I become numb to all the headlines and forget there are real lives suffering the atrocities of Israel's occupation. This documentary puts faces to the headlines, outlines the history of Jewish/Muslim/Christian relations, Israeli/Palestinian borders, and the foreign involvement in the conflict.

I received a copy of Occupation 101 from The Friends of Sabeel table at the General Convention. Sabeel is "an international peace movement initiated by Palestinian Christians in the Holy Land who seek a just peace based on two states- Palestine and Israel- as defined by international law and existing United Nations resolutions. Sabeel is an Arabic word which means "the way" and recalls the Christians of first-century Palestine who were called "the people of The Way". I am in dialogue with Friends of Sabeel North America about traveling with their delegation next summer/fall to Palestine. Their non-violent work lead by Naim Ateek, a Anglican Priest from Palestine, inspires and encourages me in the light of such an daunting situation and imbalance of power. Check out their web site here: http://www.sabeel.org/index.php

Please pray with me for Palestinians, Israelis and all who are in positions of power who can bring this occupation and oppression to an end.
